I am not even going to talk about the weather…just not going to do it!!!! 🙂
My pictures say it all:
I am going to talk about March Madness!!!! I love it! After running (of course!!!!!), basketball is my next favorite sport :). I played for 2 years in high school. It is one of my oldest daughter, Alyssa’s, favorites too! We also have fun with a little friendly competition around here, so March madness is right up our alley!
Although I love basketball, March madness is actually the only basketball that I really watch. I just don’t like NBA games as much, and while we have fun with our brackets, we don’t actually sit down and watch ALL those games :)! I have some games that I have specifically wanted to watch, and then we record a bunch and watch the end of the close games (the best way to do it)!!! I have a really strategic way of picking my teams….NOT! I totally pick them based on random stuff (like…I have a friend from there or I like the color of their uniforms better or I like a player on that team or I am just going for the underdog; thank you Mercer!!!!) and last year I won our bracket and this year I am in first! The year before last my husband won and I got 2nd…that was fun! It all came down to the last game! This year I have FL to take it all!
And these are just cute!
Speaking of March madness fun….this is a sheer stroke of genius!!!! I LOVE it and have some great friends in the “running” :)!!!!

Now onto my weekend run. I wanted to get some speed in, but I also have been wanting to push the distance a little. I did both and it was a beautiful day! I love runs in 50 degree weather, and this winter is making me appreciate them even more :)!
I did a 3 mile warm up (8:22 pace), then 5 1/2 marathon goal pace miles (I actually went a bit faster…6:27, 6:38, 6:44, 6:45, 6:47), and 3 cool down miles (8:16). This was a total of 11 miles. I was very happy that I did it with no breaks in between. I think I have the ability to recover fast (my usual recovery is walking), and I have been wanting to do more active recovery to simulate race situations. The only thing I would like to do better is flip around my goal paced miles so that my fastest was last and not first!!! It was a great workout to prep for my 1/2 coming up in 2 1/2 weeks!!!!
Sunday I took off. Yesterday was 7 miles at an 8:20 pace and today was 7 miles at an 8:40 pace.
Anyone else fill out a bracket? Who do you have winning?
Who else was blessed with snow? 🙂
