Happy Tuesday!!!

I am SUPER excited!!! I picked a fall marathon!!! My husband and I are both doing Richmond! We finally decided…who knew it would be such a tough choice! We kept going back and forth between Richmond and Baltimore! I love the idea of Baltimore because it is so close and we wouldn’t need a hotel…but I know it is a hilly,challenging course and that is really intimidating to me right now (that almost seems funny because seriously, any marathon is challenging no matter the course :)). I also just really loved the pictures that I have seen of Richmond! So…Richmond it is!

Yesterday was an unplanned rest day for me. I have been having a little bit of strange pain that I can’t quite figure out. I am pretty sure it is my IT band…but if you have another idea of what it could be let me know! I feel it in my hip and sometimes in my knee a little bit, but the funny thing is that I usually feel the pain in the very beginning of my run and then it goes away. The last 4 runs I have done start out with my hip/knee kinda feeling like it will give out on me and I have almost stopped, but after 1/4 mile it basically goes away. Yesterday it seemed a little worse, so I decided to do a lot of dynamic stretches and some strengthening exercises. By the time I finished those I didn’t really feel it and I almost decided to run…but my half marathon is next Sat and I am trying to be smart :). I have a pretty high tolerance for pain when it comes to running and I tend to push it too far.

      I know, I thought so too and thanks! I was able to do 6 miles with very little pain today…just took it VERY easy and again did a lot of drills.
