Happy Thursday (actually almost Friday)! I was tagged by the ever so beautiful Jen Chooses Joy to talk about some of my running favorites…fun!!!
SO here we go….
1. Favorite Running Location?
This one is easy….Florida! Specifically, Sanibel Island, but I love running everywhere in FL :). Every year since we have been married we take a trip to Florida. Both of our parents live in FL. I really just love palm trees, sun, beaches, and warm weather! It is so beautiful!
For our honeymoon we went to Sanibel Island, so when we are in FL we always go there.
Speaking of palm trees, this is just awesome!!!
2. Favorite running time of the day?
Morning and Lunch time 🙂
This is a tricky one for me because it depends on the season :). In summer, late spring and early fall I am a morning runner. I love going in the morning because I love getting it done early. It gives me a lot of energy (usually), and then I don’t worry about when I will have time to squeeze it in. BUT, I do not like running in the cold or in the dark, so then I rearrange my schedule and run during lunch time. In the winter it can be around 20 degrees warmer and a lot lighter if I wait till later. I home school my girls, but they take a lunch break and practice their instruments right after that so I have the time to squeeze my run in then.
3. What is ideal running weather?
Hmmm….ideal would be mid to upper 50’s for me. I like the warm weather WAY better than the cold. I have never not gone for a run outside because it was too hot. I have because it was too cold.
Before: I don’t pay too much attention to this unless it is before a race. Before morning runs I don’t like to have a big breakfast so it will either be a few handfuls of Shredded Wheat or Oatmeal Squares cereal or a piece of toast with peanut butter. If it is a lunch time run I don’t usually have anything because I have a late-ish breakfast (about 9:30).
During: I have tried absolutely everything under the sun to fuel my runs with no a whole lot of success. My last marathon I decided to try a new fuel (I do not recommend this to anyone and am not even sure why I did it because I know better) and I LOVED it! Other than that skittles, peanut butter m&m’s, and Honey Stinger Chews have been ok.
After: It kind of depends on the day and what I have run…but here are some things I like: Chocolate milk, toast with peanut butter, VEGA RECOVERY ACCELERATOR TROPICAL (there is not a lot of powdered stuff that I like but this is really good), and NUUN (grape is my favorite by far).
5. Favorite Accessories?
Oh boy, I don’t know where to begin. I pretty much love them all.

I am sure if you give me 5 minutes I can think of a million more running things that I like!
I don’t really reward myself. Running in itself rewards me in so many ways…so I am thankful for that. Of course there are times when it can be easy to forget that. Just like with everything else in our life it is so important to be thankful, but that can also be so easily forgotten.
If I had to pick a reward I would say races and running accessories. They both cost money and I like them both, so they are my rewards 🙂
