Happy Monday!!! I hope everyone had a great weekend!!! There were several big marathons this weekend; Big Sur (which look SO beautiful), New Jersey and London.

Lately my training has been a little different because I have been adding races to my weekend. What I have done to adjust is moved my speed workout to Wednesday and then also added speed to my Saturday long run. Two of the times the speed work in my long run has been in the form of a 5k. I have also tried very hard to make sure that at least 1 of my weekday runs is no faster than 8:25. This is more racing than I am used to doing and I don’t want to run myself into an injury. I have tried to pay some attention to the foam rolling and dynamic stretching. I have not done a training update in a while so here are my last 2 weeks:
Mon- 9 miles @ 8:09
Tues- 8.3 mile @ 7:56
Wed- Speed . 3.5 mile warm up, 4 x .25 mile (1:25, 1:25, 1:26, 1:26) with a 200 walk in between, 4 mile cool down
Thurs- 8.3 miles @ 8:02
Friday- 7.5 miles @ 8:24
Sat- 5k PR!!!!! 2 mile warm up, 5k (19:48), 2 mile cool down, 6 miles later @ 8:30
Mon- 9 miles @ 7:52- fast finish
Tuesday- 8.3 miles @ 8:25 pace
Wed- Speed- 3.5 mile warm up, 4 x 800 (3:01, 3:03, 3:04, 3:02), I was doing these fast to beat a storm that was coming. As soon as I finished it started pouring!!! I finishhed my cool down on the treadmill :). 3.5 mile cool down
Thursday- 8.3 miles @8:15 pace
Friday- 7 miles @ I didn’t wear my Garmin
Saturday- 13 miles 3 warm up, 3 at MP, 3 @ 1/2 MP, 3 @ tempo, 1 @MP. I did all my miles faster than I should. (7:54, 7:55, 7:45), (7:19, 7:15, 7:11), (6:39, 6:41, 6:45), (6:57, 6:59, 6:51), (7:18).
There are the last 2 weeks of training. I feel like I have had a few really good workouts and I was really happy with Saturdays long run. This workout is hard. I tried it a few weeks ago and had trouble with the pacing.
Right now I am training for 2 1/2 marathons in May.

We also got a new addition to our house this weekend!!!!! Exciting!!! This should be great for recovery :). Now we just need to figure out how to use it 🙂
