Do you ever feel like there are just not enough hours in the day? Like there is just no possible way that you will be able to check off all the things that are on your “to-do” list. I’m sure everyone has, and if you haven’t please fill me in on your secret.
These last few weeks have been just plain busy! I have been able to get all of my training in, I just have not been able to keep the blog updated :).
So here is the re-cap from the last 2 weeks. I have had some really great confidence building runs, and some really hard confidence busting runs. It just goes with marathon training.
A few weeks ago I backed off the training a little to give my body a chance to recover. That Saturday I backed my long run down to 12 miles and by Monday I was ready to get back at it. Sometimes it is good to pay attention and give your body the rest it needs to see improvements later.
Monday 10/5- 8 miles moderate pace then 6 x 1000 (3:55, 3:56, 4:00, 3:57, 3:53, 3:52)
Tues- 10 miles 8:12
Wed- 8 miles- 8:25
Thurs- 10 miles 7:56
Fri- 6 miles 8:59
Sat- 18 miles 2 w/u, 14 @ MP (these were faster and felt amazing. The average was probably 7:08 wit the last mile being 6:48), 2 mile cool down
Monday- 8 miles 8:11
Tues- 8 miles followed by 5x 600 (2:20, 2:19, 2:19, 2:21, 2:16)
Wed- 5.5 easy miles 8:58 pace
Thurs- 9 mile progression run. It is VERY rare for these to work out exactly right for me and Thursday was one of those rare and awesome days!!! 9 miles (8:25, 8:17, 8:04, 8:03, 7:48, 7:41, 7:27, 7:04, 6:41)
Friday- 5.6 miles 8:53 pace.
So here we are and Richmond is 4 weeks away!!!!!
We also had some family pictures done this week :). The weather was absolutely perfect!!!!
