The last 6 weeks in pictures!

Here we are. Thanksgiving has come and gone, Christmas has past, New Years Eve is now behind us and it is 2016!!! Anyone else still having a hard time remembering to write 2016 instead of 2015???

The last 6 weeks have been a blur of fun, family, basketball, and traveling. Right after my fall marathon we had a pretty full schedule. We had my husbands parents visiting, my parents visiting, Thanksgiving, my girls basketball, Christmas, and a quick trip to FL.

I had decided to take as long as I wanted off from a running schedule. I have still been running, just with no planned pace or distance. The weather has made it hard to want to take any days off!!! For the most part, it has been beautiful, like 70 degrees on Christmas and most days since have been close to 50!

I thought the best way to catch up would be to do a quick picture re-cap :)!!!

We took my in-laws to Harpers Ferry, West Virginia and to see the White House.

We had a great Thanksgiving!!!! We all ran a Turkey Trot 5k with my dad :)! This definitely needs to become a yearly tradition!!!

We went to Hershey World (what is not to love about chocolate)!

Taste testing hot chocolates from around the world!

A fun day at the Baltimore Aquarium

My girls have also been playing a lot of basketball :)….I LOVE watching!

And last but not least, a quick trip to visit my parents and sisters in Florida. Palm trees are my favorite!!!

A day at the beach with my favorite person :).

A day at Disney Springs and WonderWorks.

An awesome breakfast…any meal where I can get amazing pancakes works for me!!!! All the girls together for a picture 🙂

And there you have it :)…the last 6 weeks in my world :). I have definitely enjoyed a break from structured training runs, but I am starting to feel that training itch come back :).

I am super excited about learning, growing and seeing all that God has for me and my family in 2016!

Here we go 2016…let’s do this!!!

Anybody else having unusually warm weather???

Do you take a break from race training?

If yes, how long do you usually take off?

Anybody else still writing 2015? 🙂

Hi Jen, it is good to “hear” from you again! While busy, your last few weeks sound fun and even relaxing! For me, it was nice to have a break at Christmas (from homeschooling:) and spend time with my family. I just started marathon training again. I took all last summer and fall to recover from a stress fracture and build back up, so I’m back at it for a May marathon. Like you, I’m excited to see what God has in store for our family this year, and I look forward to seeing how God uses you and your family this year. Many blessings to you!

Thanks!!! :). This is definitely the time of the year when a break in needed in order to go into the rest of the year rejuvenated!!!
I am excited for your May marathon. Which marathon are you running? Good for you for taking your time and really giving your body a chance to heal and build back up again! That was smart and I am sure you will reap the benefits :).
