About Me

Welcome to Miles & Blessings (finally)!!! My name is Jen Floyd, I am 35 years old and I living in Maryland with my husband Matt and two girls, Alyssa and Courtney.

I am a runner, a wife, a mom, a teacher and a Christian. This keeps me pretty busy and I LOVE anything pertaining to all of these things:)!

I love running! I have been running since my junior year in High School. Until recently I ran simply because I love it! I ran up until the day before both of my girls were born (obviously less miles and as slow as I wanted to go) and was back at it by 4 weeks after each one. There is SO much that can be gained from running; health, confidence, determination, pride, endurance, support and even humility, and I love the opportunity that I have to help others see that.

About 5 years ago, I decided I wanted to try to do a marathon. I realize this is a crazy distance to start with, but I am kinda crazy that way :)! This began my love for racing!!! I have since done 6 marathons, 4 half marathons and a handful of 5 and 10k’s. I am really enjoying the challenge of trying to improve my times!

I have been married to the most incredible man for 15 years. He works as the Pastor of Calvary Bible Church and he is my best friend. I don’t think I can say enough great things about him! Sometimes I wonder what I did to deserve such a wonderful husband! He also enjoys running and has recently been doing some races too.

I am a mom and a teacher. I have two daughters; Alyssa (13) and Courtney (11). They are such special girls and I just love them to pieces! I home school them both and that keeps me pretty busy! Homeschooling is one of the most challenging and rewarding things that I have ever done.

Most importantly, I am a Christian. Knowing where you are going to spend eternity is the most important thing you can know. I believe that Jesus came to Earth, lived a perfect life, died on the cross and rose again. By believing this, I know that I will have eternal life in heaven. Ephesians 2:8-9. Knowing all that Christ has done for me, I consider it a joy to live for him to the best of my ability and tell others about the gift of eternal life.

I have really enjoyed getting to know other runners and moms through some of the blogs I have been reading. I look forward to getting to know more and sharing some of my adventures in running and in life!
